For Researchers, Students, Scientists and Doctors. The Ninth Global Forum on Bioethics in Research
The Ninth Global Forum on Bioethics in Research will take place 3-5 December
2008 in Auckland, New Zealand, with the overarching theme of the ethics of research
involving indigenous peoples and vulnerable populations. The aims of the Forum are to
provide an inclusive forum for sharing and discussing ethical concerns and experiences
related to research involving indigenous peoples and vulnerable populations, explore
paradigms and belief systems and how these can be better understood and supported in
research ethics, and explore possibilities for including cultural frameworks in research
ethics policy.
A call for applications has now gone out - further details can be found at the website for
the Health Research Council of New Zealand http://gfbr9.hrc.govt.nz/, who are hosting
next year’s Forum.
